Vanessa Williams, the founder of the nonprofit group Our Children Do Matter Inc, is requesting to host a two day Juneteenth Day Celebration in Aaronville Park. The festivities will be from 11am - 6pm Saturday, June 15th and 2pm -6pm Sunday, June 16th 2024. This event will be open to the community. They will have vendors, grills, live entertainment, tents and tables set up. They will offer workshops, games and face painting for the children and end with a Fathers Day dinner on Sunday.

WHEREAS, Vanessa Williams and Our Children Matter Inc. is requesting to use Aaronville Park to host a two day Juneteenth Day Celebration in Aaronville Park.
WHEREAS, the event will take place Saturday, June 15th 11am - 6pm and Sunday, June 16th 2pm - 6pm 2024.
WHEREAS, this will be open to the community. They will have vendors, grills, live entertainment, tents, tables and chairs set up.
WHEREAS, they will offer workshops, games, and face painting for the children and a Fathers Day dinner.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama
Section 1: Approves the use of Aaronville Park for the two day Juneteenth Day Celebration Saturday, June 15th 11am - 6pm and Sunday, June 16th 2pm - 6pm 2024.
Section 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
