WHEREAS, The Miracle League of Coastal Alabama has requested financial assistance to build a regional Miracle League complex for the purpose of enhancing the lives of local children and adults facing serious physical and mental disabilities, and
WHEREAS, The Town of Summerdale has donated land for the construction of the Miracle League complex, comprised of a baseball field and playground, with the intent that its central location will service all of Baldwin County, and
WHEREAS, City Council has determined that appropriating funds for the purpose of building a regional Miracle League complex is in the best interest of the City of Foley.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Appropriates funds in the amount of $ ____ for the specific purpose of constructing a Miracle League complex in Summerdale, Alabama under Account No. 100-1011-6052 Public Relations.
SECTION 2: Approves the funds to be paid at the point of ground breaking.
SECTION 3: Amends the budget accordingly.
SECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
