A Resolution to Approve Application to Federal Communications Commission’s Emergency Connectivity Fund Grant
Summary
The Federal Communications Commission is accepting applications for the 2nd round of the Emergency Connectivity Fund. The Foley Public Library requests permission to submit an application for this grant in order to fund additional laptops and hot spots. The grant application is due on October 13, 2021. The $6,750 grant match is not budgeted but the Library Director has budget funds he can move around to cover the match should the grant be awarded.

WHEREAS, the Federal Communications Commission is accepting applications for the 2nd round of the Emergency Connectivity Fund through October 13, 2021, and
WHEREAS, the Foley Public Library requests permission to submit an application for this grant in order to fund additional laptops and hot spots, and
WHEREAS, the grant amount requested is $11,400 with $6,750 matching funds to purchase 15 laptops and the monthly rental for 15 hotspots.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: The City Council authorizes the submission of a grant application to Federal Communications Commission’s Emergency Connectivity Fund Grant to fund additional laptops and hot spots for the library.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
