Tommy Patterson has resigned from the GCNP Board due to moving out of District 3 and traveling. Mr. Patterson's term expires on September 5, 2022. He is willing to serve another term. Environmental Manager Leslie Gahagan makes a recommendation to Council to appoint Terry Hanson to fill the unexpired term of Tommy Patterson.

WHEREAS, Tommy Patterson has resigned from the Graham Creek Nature Preserve Board due to moving out of District 3 and traveling, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Patterson's term of office expires on September 5, 2022, and
WHEREAS, the Environmental Manager makes a recommendation to the City Council to appoint Terry Hanson to fill the unexpired term of Tommy Patterson.
WHEREAS, the State of Alabama Ethics Commission says that public officials/board members fall under the State Ethics Law, and therefore should have the opportunity to educate themselves regarding this law, and
WHEREAS, the Alabama Ethics Commission has recently developed an online video training of the Alabama Ethics Law, which can be accessed at their website at www.ethics.alabama.gov, and
WHEREAS, all newly appointed and reappointed board members must submit a copy of their training certification to the City of Foley as a condition to being appointed/reappointed to the boards.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Appoints Terry Hanson to the Graham Creek Nature Preserve Board beginning October 4, 2021 and ending on September 5, 2022 to fill the unexpired term of Tommy Patterson, who has resigned based on the conditions that he submits a copy of the Alabama Ethics Law certification to the City Clerk to be included in the City's General Files.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law
