WHEREAS, the Environmental and Engineering Departments are requesting to accept the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation award for the Phase I Bon Secour Headwaters Restoration in the amount of $1,528,000, and
WHEREAS, the project is included in the current year budget capital plan, and
WHEREAS, the Phase I Bon Secour Headwaters Restoration project includes the site assessments, land acquisition and project permitting with state and federal agencies in order to improve the water quality in the headwaters of the Bon Secour River, and
WHEREAS, Volkert, Inc. will contract with the City for engineering and design services for the project.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the acceptance of the award from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation for the Phase I Bon Secour Headwaters Restoration in the amount of $1,528,000, and allocates $1,528,000 under Account No. 400-2040-5100 R50 and under Revenue Account No. 400-2040-4100 R50 GRANT.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
