Sue Steigerwald:  Hurricane Michael caused catastrophic damange in and around Mexico Beach Florida.  Request allowing the use of up to $1,200 of the Finance Divisions budget and consider allowing Directors to transfer available budget to General Government Public Relations account 100-1011-6015 for a maximum approved amount of $2,500.  Council would also need to authorize the use of City personnel and equipment to carry out the assistance efforts.  Staff would contact local officials in and around Mexico Beach Florida to determine how to best assist.

     WHEREAS,  on October 10th, 2018, Hurricane Michael made landfall along the Florida Panhandle near Mexico Beach as a Category 4 hurricane causing catastrophic damage, and

     WHEREAS,  the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, wishes to offer assitance to residents in and around the initial landfall location through contact with local officals.

     NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:

     SECTION 1:     Approves up to $1,200 to be transferred from Finance Division Operational Accounts to General Government Administration Public Relations account 100-1011-6015.

     SECTION 2:     Approves other Directors to transfer available budget funds of not more than $100 per Department from Operational Accounts to General Government Public Relations account 100-1011-6015 for a combined total not to exceed $2,500. 

     SECTION 3:     Approves employee time and the use of equipment needed to conduct relief efforts in accordance with City policies and procedures.

     SECTION 4:     This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
