A Resolution to appoint Donna Turbyfill and Kerry Slota to the Foley Historical Commission.

Summary

 

Perry Wilbourne's term of office expired on May 28, 2018. He declined being reapppointed to the Historical Commission due to health reasons.  The Historical Commission wishes to appoint Donna Turbyfill to fill the vacancy of Perry Wilbourne's expired term.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the State of Alabama Ethics Commission says that public officials/board members fall under the State Ethics Law, and therefore should have the opportunity to educate themselves regarding this law, and

WHEREAS, the Alabama Ethics Commission has recently developed an online video training of the Alabama Ethics Law, which can be accessed at their website at www.ethics.alabama.gov, <http://www.ethics.alabama.gov,> and

WHEREAS, all newly appointed and reappointed board members must submit a copy of their training certification to the City of Foley as a condition to being appointed/reappointed to the boards.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:

 

SECTION 1:                      Appoints Donna Turbfill to the Foley Historical Commission beginning retro actively on May 29, 2018 and expiring on May 30, 2021 to fill the vacancy left by Perry Wilbourne's expired term based on the condition that she submits a copy of the Alabama Ethics Law certification to the City Clerk to be included in the City's General Files.

 

SECTION 2:     Appoints Kerry Slota to the Foley Historical Commission to fill the vacancy of the unexpired term of Pat Davis who resigned based on the condition that she submits a copy of the Alabama Ethics Law certification to the City Clerk to be included in the City's General Files.

 

            SECTION 3:      This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
