WHEREAS, the City of Foley solicited bids and publicly opened them on May 29, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. for the construction of an additional Fire Station located at 9920 Fairway Drive and the bids were as follows:

GM Stuart, Inc.            $1,022,926.00
Southeastern Construction      $  975,000.00
E.J. Builders, Inc.            $  954,630.00
Bay South Limited            $  897,000.00
 
WHEREAS, all bids exceeded the estimated project cost of $600,000.  
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1:      Rejects all bids for the construction of an additional Fire Station and grant permission to rebid the project with revised specifications.
SECTION 2:      Appropriates up to $4,500 in bid and rebid related costs to account number 12-665-7306 Q84 BID
SECTION 3:      This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
