WHEREAS, concerns from citizens regarding the non-uniformity of local street speeds limits have been raised in the street quadrant bounded by the east/west directional streets of US98 and Azalea Avenue and the north/south directional streets of Alston Street and Cedar Street, and
WHEREAS, the City has placed emphasis on traffic calming implementation including creating more standardized speed limits to better serve the community to promote the health, safety, and welfare of the public, and WHEREAS, Engineering offers the following recommendations on speed limits for the following streets:
Orange Avenue between Cedar Street and Alston Street to be set at 20 mph; Myrtle Avenue between Cedar Street and Alston Street to be set at 20 mph; Verbena Avenue between Cedar Street and Alston Street to be set to 15 mph due to immediate proximity to Max Griffin Park; Roosevelt Avenue between Cedar Street and Alston Street to be set to 15 mph due to immediate proximity to Max Griffin Park; Pedigo Avenue between Pine Street and Alston Stree...
