The Fire Department is requesting consideration to amend the 2012 Code Ordinance, Section 1 (e) to adopt the 2015 International Fire Code (IFC), as amended. The State Fire Marshal has received approval and will adopt the 2015 IFC as the State Fire Code, effective January 1, 2017. In order to prevent confusion and be in compliance with the minimum fire codes established by the State, we need to adopt the 2015 IFC, as it is the most current fire code version. A summary of significant changes from the 2012 IFC to 2015 IFC is attached as supporting documentation.

WHEREAS, the Fire Department is requesting consideration to amend the 2012 Code Ordinance, Section 1 (e) to adopt the 2015 International Fire Code (IFC), as amended, and
WHEREAS, the State Fire Marshal has received approval and will adopt the 2015 IFC as the State Fire Code, effective January 1, 2017, and
WHEREAS, in order to prevent confusion and be in compliance with the minimum fire codes established by the State, Ordinance 16-2020 must be amended to adopt the 2015 IFC, as it is the most current fire code version.
BE IT ORDAINED that the Foley City Council as follows:
Section 1. Amends Ordinance 16-2020 , Section 1 (e), to adopt the International Fire Code, 2015 Edition, as amended.
