A Resolution to Approve Advertisement for Public Hearing for FY22 Community Development Block Grant

 

Summary

The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) is currently accepting applications for Fiscal Year 2022 Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) through July 18, 2022. The City of Foley is interested in applying for CDBG funds to pay for a new playground at the Aaronville Park. ADECA requires municipalities to hold a Public Hearing prior to submission of the application in order to inform the public of the intent to apply. The City would like to authorize the placement of appropriate advertisements notifying the public of a CDBG Public Hearing that will be held at Southside Baptist Church on June 21, 2022 at 6pm.

     WHEREAS, the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) is currently accepting applications for Fiscal Year 2022 Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) through July 18, 2022; and

     WHEREAS, the City of Foley is interested in applying for CDBG funds to pay for a new playground at the Aaronville Park; and

     WHEREAS, the ADECA requires municipalities to hold a Public Hearing prior to submission of the application in order to inform the public of the intent to apply;

 

     NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:

 

     SECTION 1: The City of Foley authorizes the placement of appropriate advertisements notifying the public of a CDBG Public Hearing that will be held at Southside Baptist Church on June 21, 2022 at 6pm.

    

     SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
