Approval requested by Darrelyn Dunmore and Foley Main Street to host a Downtown Foley "Saltiest Dog" Parade and costume contest Thursday, August 20, 2026 from 4pm - 7pm (including set up and clean up time). The parade will be held in conjunction with the August Downtown Foley Third Thursday "Arrr-gust Adventure in an effort to draw people to downtown. The parade route will be from W. Violet to Cat Alley Walkway. Street closures requested are Jessamine and N. Alston for crossing as well as the alley crossings to be closed from 6-7pm. They will have a sound system in Cat Alley for the best dog costume judging.

WHEREAS, Darrelyn Dunmore and Foley Main Street is requesting approval to host a Downtown Foley "Saltiest Dog" Parade and dog costume contest Thursday, August 20, 2026 from 4pm - 7pm (including set up and clean up time; and
WHEREAS, the parade will be held in conjunction with the August Downtown Foley Third Thursday "Arrr-gust Adventure in an effort to draw people to downtown; and
WHEREAS, the street closure request include Jessamine and N. Alston for crossing as well as the alley crossings from 6pm - 7pm.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FOLEY, ALABAMA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Darrelyn Dunmore and Foley Main Street is requesting approval to host a Downtown Foley "Saltiest Dog" Parade and dog costume contest Thursday, August 20, 2026 from 4pm - 7pm (including set up and clean up)
SECTION 2: The parade route will be from W. Violet to Cat Alley Walkway. Street closures requested are Jessamine and N. Alston for crossing as well as the alley crossings to be closed from 6-7pm.
SECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
