A Resolution to Approve Pre-Application Costs Related to COVID-19 HMGP Grant Project

 

Summary

The City of Foley received approval on RES 21-1461 to apply for the Hazard Mitigation Grant Project in order to strengthen Fire Station #1. The City has received permission to begin the application from the State of Alabama EMA with the grant application deadline of May 5th. In order to complete the application, an engineering study must be conducted and given to the consultant who will be assisting the City of Foley with the grant application. The Fire Department is requesting $10,000 for the engineering (CMG Engineering) and $10,000 for the completion of the grant application (Synergy). The grant application costs will also be potentially eligible for grant reimbursement.

     WHEREAS, The City of Foley received approval on RES 21-1461 to apply for the Hazard Mitigation Grant Project in order to strengthen Fire Station #1, and

 

     WHEREAS, in order to complete the application an engineering study must be conducted and given to the consultant who will be assisting the City of Foley with the grant application, and

 

     WHEREAS, the Fire Department is requesting to amend the budget to account 400-2020-5105 (HMGP Fire Station 1 Improvements) for $20,000 for engineering services and HMGP application assistance.

 

     NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:

 

     SECTION 1: Approves amending account #400-2020-5105 (HMGP Fire Station 1 Improvements) for $20,000 for engineering services and HMGP application assistance.

 

     SECTION 2: Council authorizes Mayor, Clerk and other City officials to sign the contracts and other documents required to proceed.

 

     SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
