A Resolution Approving the Bid for the First Responder Safe Room

 

Summary

Bids were publicly opened December 4, 2025, for the construction of the First Responder Safe Room. Eleven contractors submitted bids for this project with Roy Lewis Construction Corporation being the lowest responsible bidder at $3,720,000. Adams Stewart Architects recommends awarding the project to Roy Lewis Construction Corporation. Funding for this project has already been appropriated.

WHEREAS, bids were publicly opened December 4, 2025, for the construction of the First Responder Safe Room, and

 

WHEREAS, eleven contractors submitted bids for this project with Roy Lewis Construction Corporation being the lowest responsible bidder in the amount of $3,720,000, and

 

WHEREAS, Adams Stewart Architects recommends awarding the bid to Roy Lewis Construction Corporation.

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:

    

SECTION 1: Awards the bid to Roy Lewis Construction Corporation who was the lowest responsible bidder for the First Responder Safe Room in the amount of $3,720,000.

 

SECTION 2: Authorizes the Mayor and other City staff to sign the contract with Roy Lewis Construction Corporation once finalized.

     

SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
