WHEREAS, the City of Foley has determined that the creation of a Sports Commission Advisory Board will assist City staff in future decisions on events and programs.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Advisory Board Defined: An Advisory Board is a board appointed to advise the Executive Director of Sports in the area of its specialty.
SECTION 2: Board Membership: The board shall consist of eight (8) members. The Board members are as follows: City of Foley Councilman, Executive Director of Sports (non-voting), Economic Development Director, City of Foley Environmental Manager, Recreation Director, Mayor, South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce Representative and a Representative At Large. The members of the board shall serve for four-year terms at the pleasure of the City Council without compensation. Terms shall be aligned with the terms of the elected officials office. The Board must elect its own chairperson and vice-chairperson in January of every year.
SECTION 3: Meetings: Generally, meetings shall commence on the 15th day of January, April, July and October at 4:00 p.m. at Foley City Hall in the Conference Room or Blue Collar. Roberts Rules of Order will be followed in all meetings. Five of the seven voting members must be presen...
