I am requesting to purchase hydraulic rescue tools to be used for extrication of victims in motor vehicle accidents, structural collapse, and other incidents with entrapment. This purchase will add a modern set of tools to our new ladder truck that is scheduled for delivery next year. This set will be battery powered to take advantaged of the latest technology and save space. This is a budgeted purchase in the General Fund, and these are available through NPP contract purchasing. The amount is greater than the estimated cost in the budget, but we have unused funds from other purchases, so no budget increase is required.
