A Resolution to Apply for Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) DR-4503 Funds

 

Summary

The Emergency Management Director requests permission to apply for the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) DR-4503 funds. HMGP letters of intent were due to the Alabama EMA no later than December 13, 2021. Two Letters of Intent have been submitted: one fore a generator for public works and the second for strengthening of Foley Fire Station #1. The project cost totals $186,750 with the grant potentially covering 75% ($140,062.50) and a 25% ($46,687.50) match will be required. The full application deadline is May 6, 2022.

     WHEREAS, The Emergency Management Director requests permission to apply for the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) DR-4503 funds, and 

 

     WHEREAS, HMGP letters of intent were due to the Alabama EMA no later than December 13, 2021, and

 

     WHEREAS, full applications are deadline is July 20, 2021, and

 

     WHEREAS, two Letters of Intent have been submitted: one fore a generator for public works and the second for strengthening of Foley Fire Station #1, and 

 

     WHEREAS, the project cost totals $186,750 with the grant potentially covering 75% ($140,062.50) and a 25% ($46,687.50) match will be required, and

 

     WHEREAS, the full application deadline is May 6, 2022.

 

     NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:

 

     SECTION 1: Council authorizes Emergency Management Director to apply for the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) DR-4503 funds.

 

     SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
