 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING STREET NAMES FOR PRIVATE DRIVEWAYS CONNECTING TO EXISTING RIGHT-OF-WAYS

WHEREAS, on January 17, 2014 the City of Foley adopted Ordinance No. 14-1000 approving the Addressing Ordinance.

WHEREAS, Addressing Guidelines, Street Names 2) reads “The Mayor and Council shall have the authority to name streets within the City limits of Foley or change the name of a street as deemed necessary, subject to E-911 review.”

BE IT ORDAINED that the Foley City Council as follows:

Section 1.                     The Foley Housing Authority is redoing the units in Aaronville.  Due to the new configuration, several private driveways will be connectors between, or extended from, existing right-of-ways.  New units will face these private drives so names are required for their addressing.  

Section 2.                     These drives are identified by number on the attached map.

1.                     Minor Lane will run north/south at the east end of 3rd & 4th Avenue;

2.                     Acorn Drive will run north/south at the east end of 5th & 6th Avenue;

3.                     Anglin Lane will run north/south on the south side toward the west end of 6th Avenue;

4.                     Aaronville Circle will loop south toward the east end of 6th Avenue;

5.                     Frost Circle will run north/south on the north side toward the east end of 8th Avenue.

Section 3.                     This ordinance shall become effective upon its publication as required by law.
