To authorize entering into an agreement with Flat Rate Processing d/b/a GovtPortal to provide credit card payment processing services; to authorize the acceptance of Visa, Mastercard and DiscoverCard as means of payment for certain funds due to the City; to authorize Mayor John Koniar to execute the agreement on behalf of the City of Foley.

WHEREAS, the City of Foley has determined that it will be a benefit to our citizens to allow acceptance of debit and credit cards for payment of certain funds due to the City, and
WHEREAS, Flat Rate Processing d/b/a GovtPortal will provide this service at no charge to the City for the processing services or required equipment, and
WHEREAS, the agreement between Flat Rate Processing and the City allows either party to terminate the agreement upon seven (7) days advance notice; guarantees no liability for the City and states that the 3.5% "convenience fee" will be charged to the customers who desire to use a debit or credit card for payment,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
