Ordinance 490-95 regulates extended parking at the Foley Municipal Airport. This is currently managed by the Airport Manager at City Hall. Because of the inconvenience to those seeking a permit (mainly due to late or weekend arrivals) and the outdated policy established by the ordinance, it is requested that this ordinance be rescinded and the task of issuing permits be moved to the Airport Fixed Base Operator (FBO).

WHEREAS, on February 6, 1995, Ordinance No. 490-95 was approved in order to regulate Foley Municipal Airport parking, establish parking fees, and require that a permit be issued to individuals who park a vehicle at the airport for three or more consecutive days, and,
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 490-95 also authorized the Foley Police Department to disseminate permit applications, collect permit fees, issue permits, and enforce compliance with the Ordinance regulating Foley Municipal Airport parking, and,
WHEREAS, due to changes in Police Department operations and logistics since 1995, it became difficult to continue issuing permits from this location and responsibility was turned over to the the Airport Manager based at City Hall where issuance of permits continues to be problematic and inconvenient to the individuals seeking extended parking permits in many cases due to their arrival a...
