WHEREAS, The Department of Transportation is accepting applications for TIGER Discretionary Grants for National Infrastructure Investments, and
WHEREAS, there is a continued need to expand walking and bike paths throughout the city for better connectivity, and
WHEREAS, the deadline to apply is June 3, 2013
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves an application for DOT for the FY 2013 Tiger Discretionary Grant program for $6,334,383 (Federal: $4,728,507 City match: $1,605,876) to expand walking and bike paths throughout the city to achieve better connectivity for residents and visitors.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
