A Resolution In Support of Legislation Requiring Child-Care and Child- Day Care Facilities Be Subject to Licensing and Regulation by the Department of Human Resources.

A number of our municipalities are passing resolutions in support of upcoming legislation regarding the regulation and licensure of childcare facilities. ALM sent an eblast to all municipal officials, clerks and managers with the sample resolution below and encouraged each municipality to forward a copy of its resolution to local media, their legislators and Gov. Ivey.

     NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, hereby endorses and supports legislation requiring that all child-care facilities and child-day care facilities, including pre-schools, be subject to licensing and regulation by the Department of Human Resources.

 

    BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council requests that the Alabama Legislature and Governor Kay Ivey consider the legislation at the next legislative session and that the Baldwin County Legislative Delegation support the legislation.

 

   BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution shall be provided to the Governor, each member of the Baldwin County Legislative Delegation, and each member of the Alabama House and Senate.
