A Resolution to Transfer Funds from Fire Department Capital to Operating
Summary
The Fire Department is working to upgrade Knox Key Secure units on our apparatus. These units secure the master key in our vehicles that gives us access to all the Knox key boxes in our jurisdiction. We require a Knox Box on any business that is equipped with a sprinkler system or supervised fire alarm system. Several of the current units have reached end of life status and can no longer be repaired. The Key Secure upgrade has been approved in the FY 2023-2024 budget under Capital account #100-2020-5100. With the cost of each installed unit being under the capital purchase amount, we are requesting to transfer funds to our operational accounts. The original amount budgeted was $17,000. We will be requesting to transfer a total of $16,448.79 to our operational accounts.

WHEREAS, the Fire Department budgeted $17,000 as a capital purchase for updating Knox Key Secure units in fire apparatus
WHEREAS, the total installed cost for each unit in an apparatus is less than and capital purchase amount.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the transfer of funds from Account #100-2020-51020 Capital to the Operating Account with $15,150.79 being transferred to Account #100-2020-6053 and $1,298.00 being transferred to Account #100-2020-6049.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
