Body

                     BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FOLEY, ALABAMA, AS FOLLOWS:

 

                     SECTION 1:                     Ordinance No. 16-2002 adopted on February 1, 2016, and any earlier ordinances dated prior to February 1, 2016 relating to establishing salaries of the Mayor and Councilmembers are hereby repealed.

                     SECTION 2:                     That the salary of the mayor of the City of Foley, Alabama shall be and the same is hereby fixed at the sum of $50,000.00 for the first year; $55,000 for the second year; $60,000 for the third year; and $65,000 for the fourth year to be paid bi-weekly.  The mayor will request reimbursement for qualifying expenses.

                     SECTION 3:                     That the salary for the Council President of the City of Foley, Alabama shall be and the same is hereby fixed at the sum of $25,000.00 annually to be paid bi-weekly.  The Council President will request reimbursement for qualifying expenses.

             SECTION 4:    That the salary for the Council President Pro-tempore of the City of Foley, Alabama shall be and the same is hereby fixed at the sum of $22,000.00 annually to be paid bi-weekly

                     SECTION 5:                     That each Councilmember, excluding the Council President and President Pro-tempore, shall be compensated at the sum of $20,000.00 annually to be paid bi-weekly. Council Members will continue to request reimbursement for qualifying expenses.

                     SECTION 6:                     The Mayor and Council are eligible to participate in the RSA-1 or Empower Retirement Deferred Compensation Plan.

                     SECTION 7:                     This ordinance shall become effective on the first Monday in November, 2020, and shall continue in force and effect until repealed by action of the council.

                     SECTION 8:                     This ordinance shall become effective upon its publication as required by law.
