Terry Hanson has declined to be reappointed for another term from the GCNP Board. Mr. Hanson's term expires on September 5, 2022. Environmental Manager Leslie Gahagan makes a recommendation to Council to appoint Anthony Dobson to fill the vacancy of Terry Hanson.

WHEREAS, the State of Alabama Ethics Commission says that public officials/board members fall under the State Ethics Law, and therefore should have the opportunity to educate themselves regarding this law, and
WHEREAS, the Alabama Ethics Commission has recently developed an online video training of the Alabama Ethics Law, which can be accessed at their website at www.ethics.alabama.gov, and
WHEREAS, all newly appointed and reappointed board members must submit a copy of their training certification to the City of Foley as a condition to being appointed/reappointed to the boards, and
WHEREAS, Terry Hanson has resigned from the Graham Creek Nature Preserve Advisory Board effective immediately, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hanson's term of office expires on September 5, 2022, and
WHEREAS, the Environmental Manager makes a recommendation to the City Council to appoint Anthony Dobson to fill the vacancy of Terry Hanson.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Appoints Anthony Dobson to the Graham Creek Nature Preserve Board beginning August 16, 2022 and ending on September 5, 2022 to fill the vacancy of Terry Hanson, who has resigned based on the conditions that he submits a copy of the Alabama Ethics Law certification to the City Clerk to be included in the City's General Files.
