Michele Morgan with Big Fish Ministries, Inc has requested the use of Heritage Park and Pavilion at no charge on Sunday, August 30, 2026 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm (including setup time) for a community Drug Overdose Awareness Day. The purpose is to raise awareness about overdosing and help bring healing to family members who have experienced this tragedy. They are planning to have a food truck, guest speakers, stage equipment, tents, live music performed by local churches and artists, kids activities (possibly a bouncer) and a memorial wall for healing. They are expecting 200+ people to attend.

WHEREAS, Michele Morgan with Big Fish Ministries, Inc has requested the use of Heritage Park and Pavilion at no charge on Sunday, August 30, 2026 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm (including setup time) for a community Drug Overdose Awareness Day, and
WHEREAS, the purpose is to raise awareness about overdosing and help bring healing to family members who have experienced this tragedy, and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves waiving fees for the use of Heritage Park and Pavilion by Michele Morgan with Big Fish Ministries to host Drug Overdose Awareness Day on Sunday, August 30, 2026 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
