Summary
Request permission to purchase a fire skid for the Nature Parks Department. The request is in the FY25 budget for capital purchases (Account 100-5090-5100) for $6,000. The lowest quote for the equipment after shipping was from Forestry Suppliers, Inc. at $5756.10. This equipment is needed to assist with prescribed burning operations conducted by staff. This equipment will alleviate some of the need for contracted services through the AL Forestry Commission. The goal is for staff to conduct burning on tracts less than 25 acres. It will be mounted as needed on an existing ATV.
