WHEREAS, the Revitalization and Beautification Advisory Board wishes to continue its initiative to install bronze statues of children in prominent city locations, and
WHEREAS,the Friends of the Library Advisory Board have agreed to joint funding of a statue and have identified the statue that is to be installed at the Foley Public Library, and
WHEREAS, the Beautification Board has a surplus of funds in its Capital Purchases account to apply towards this purchase.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: The City of Foley accepts a donation of $2,000 from The Friends of the Library to apply towards the purchase of the statue being installed at the Foley Public Library and amends Unrestricted Donation Revenue account 01-5040.
SECTION 2: Memorializes the purchase of a statue from Fran's on 59 for a total of $4,353.00 under Beautification Board Account No. 01-619-7010 (Capital Purchases) and approves an additional $500.00 to purchase a stone to mount the statue on from Fran's on 59 under the same account.
