Title

A Resolution Reappointing Rick Blackwell, to the Public Facilities Cooperative District Board.

 

Summary

Mr. Blackwell's term expired on July 3, 2025. He is willing to serve a one year term.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the State of Alabama Ethics Commission says that public officials/board members fall under the State Ethics Law, and therefore should have the opportunity to educate themselves regarding this law, and

WHEREAS, the Alabama Ethics Commission has recently developed an online video training of the Alabama Ethics Law, which can be accessed at their website at www.ethics.alabama.gov, and

WHEREAS, all newly appointed and reappointed board members must submit a copy of their training certification to the City of Foley as a condition to being appointed/reappointed to the boards.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:

                     SECTION 1:                     Reappoints Rick Blackwell, to the Public Facilities Cooperative District Board will begin retroactive July 4, 2025 and ending on July 5, 2026 based on the conditions that they submit a copy of the Alabama Ethics Law                      certification to the City Clerk to be included in the City's General Files.

                     SECTION 2:                     This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
