In 1985, the City of Foley purchased a two acre parcel in Summerdale (PPIN 064597) for the sole purpose of constructing a non-directional beacon (NDB) for the benefit of the Foley Municipal Airport. The NDB was decommissioned in May of 2016. The property is no longer needed for municipal purposes so I am requesting that it be declared surplus and sold.

WHEREAS, the City of Foley owns certain real property identified as Parcel #05-47-07-25-0-000-004.004; PPIN 064597, in Summerdale, Alabama consisting of two (2) acres that was deeded to the City on April 11, 1985 for the sole purpose of installing a Non-Directional Radio Beacon (NDB) for the benefit of the Foley Municipal Airport. The technology became outdated and the NDB was decommissioned on May 10, 2016; and,

WHEREAS, this property is no longer needed for municipal purposes, the City finds that it will serve a public purpose to sell the surplus property at the appraised value.

BE IT ORDAINED that the Foley City Council as follows:

SECTION 1. That the City Council hereby finds and declares that the following property is no longer needed for municipal purposes and that it is in the best interest of the City of Foley to market and sell the same at the appraised value and amends Acco...
