A Resolution authorizing a sponsorship contribution to the Baldwin County District Attorney's Foundation in support of the 2026 Paddles for a Purpose Pickleball Tournament.

Whereas, the Baldwin County District Attorney's Office serves the residents of Baldwin County by promoting justice, public safety, and victim advocacy; and
Whereas, Baldwin County continues to experience significant population growth, resulting in increased demands on the criminal justice system and the need for additional resources to support prosecutors, law enforcement partners, and victims of crime; and
Whereas, the Baldwin County District Attorney's Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides support for victim services, investigative tools, professional training, and community education initiatives that enhance public safety and the effective administration of justice; and
Whereas, the Pickleball Tournament scheduled for May 9th, 2026, serves as a community event to raise funds and awareness in support of these important services; and
Whereas, the City Council of the City of Foley desires to support initiatives that contribute to the safety, well-being, and quality of life of its residents and the broader community.
Now, therefore, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
Section 1. The City Council hereby approves a sponsorship contribution in the amount of $1,000 to the Baldwin County District Attorney's Foundation in support of the 2026 Paddles for a Purpose Pickleball Tournament to be held May 9th, 2026.
Section 2. The sponsorship contribution authorized herein shall be paid from the City of Foley Public Relations Account No. 100-1011-6053.
Section 3. The appropriate city officials are hereby authorized to take all actions necessary to carry out the intent of this resolution.
Section 4. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption by the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama.
