Body

                     BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FOLEY, ALABAMA, AS FOLLOWS:

 

                     SECTION 1:                     Ordinance No. 1188-12 adopted on February 20, 2012, and any earlier ordinances dated prior to February 20th, 2012 relating to establishing salaries of the Mayor and Councilmembers are hereby repealed.

                     SECTION 2:                     That the salary of the mayor of the City of Foley, Alabama shall be and the same is hereby fixed at the sum of $35,000.00 annually to be paid bi-weekly for the first two years of the mayoral term and then raised to $40,000.00 annually to be paid bi-weekly for the remaining two years of the mayoral term.  The mayor will request reimbursement for qualifying expenses.

                     SECTION 3:                     That the salary for the council president of the City of Foley, Alabama shall be and the same is hereby fixed at the sum of $18,000.00 annually to be paid bi-weekly.  The council president will request reimbursement for qualifying expenses.

                     SECTION 4:                     That each Councilmember, excluding the Council President, shall be compensated at the sum of $12,000.00 annually to be paid bi-weekly. Council members will continue to request reimbursement for qualifying expenses.

                     SECTION 5:                     The mayor and council are eligible to participate in the RSA-1 or Empower Retirement Deferred Compensation Plan.

                     SECTION 6:                     This ordinance shall become effective on the first Monday in November, 2016, and shall continue in force and effect until repealed by action of the council.

                     SECTION 7:                     This ordinance shall become effective upon its publication as required by law.
