WHEREAS, Application for the FY26 Dollar General Youth Literacy Grant is due April 2, 2026; and
WHEREAS, the grant's potential maximum award amount is $5,000 with no required local match; and
WHEREAS, if awarded the funds would be used to support children's programming in the new library's STEAM Lab; and
WHEREAS, the City of Foley Public Library is requesting application for the grant.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the application for the FY26 Dollar General Youth Literacy Grant.
SECTION 2: Authorizes the Mayor and other City officials to sign the application and other documents as required to proceed with the grant request.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
