The Public Works Dept hired a temporary full-time Administrative Assistant in August 2020 to assist with the increased call volume, walk-in customers and to provide additional administrative support. The need to make this a permanent position has grown significantly over the past year due to the substantial growth throughout the city. This position is also providing more administrative support to the various Crew Leaders than was previously expected. We do not anticipate a relief from this increased workload in the future and feel a permanent position is warranted. After a job analysis was conducted, the job title, description and pay grade are identical to the previous Administrative Asst I-Public Works that was upgraded to an Administrative Asst IV by Res # 20-1110. Therefore the request is to reinstate that previous position to amend the pay plan and is budget neutral.
