The new tennis courts at Mel Roberts Park need a sidewalk for players to walk to the new courts. The new sidewalk addition will also include path lighting and walkways to the old courts as well. The new 5 foot sidewalk will cover a total of 380 linear feet and cost the city $7500. The additional $1,500 will be used for lighting the path to the new courts. The City will provide top soil to help raise the sidewalk for the project.

WHEREAS, the Mel Roberts tennis courts need a sidewalk for access and additional lighting,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the purchase and construction of a new sidewalk and lighting for the amount of $9,000 from remaining budgeted funds under the Tennis Court Construction capital project account 12-665-7302 Q80 CONST.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
