WHEREAS, the Pay Classification Plan (PCP) currently has one Mechanic and one Mechanic Aide, and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Superintendent reports that the Mechanic Aide is performing the same level of work and the same job duties as the Mechanic.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1:       Authorizes converting the Mechanic Aide position to a second Mechanic position in the Pay Classification Plan effective pay period beginning February 11, 2014, and approves the merging of these two jobs as reflected on the attached job description.
SECTION 2:       Authorizes employee #01-0629 to remain in this position upon conversion, at the minimum rate of pay for the Mechanic position.
SECTION 3:      Authorizes an allocation of funds not to exceed $11,000 in support of this action. Human Resources will provide the Finance Division with a breakdown on the allocation of funds to the specific personnel accounts.
SECTION 4:      This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
