A Resolution to Modify Residential Sanitation Collection Fees

 

Body

 

     WHEREAS, on March 21, 2022 Council adopted Ordinance 22-2010, which states in Section 10-45 a. Monthly charges for various types and frequency of waste collections shall be set by the City, and may be amended by the City as needed by resolution, and shall be charged to the customer on the monthly utility bill, and

 

     WHEREAS, the City finds it necessary and proper to increase the residential sanitation collection fees in the City by $3.25 per unit, per month for the first garbage can, and

 

     WHEREAS, the City requests each additional garbage to remain at the current rate of $16.00 per month.

 

     NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:

 

     SECTION 1:     Approves the cost increase for mandatory residential sanitation services within the City of Foley, unless and until amended, shall be Twenty Three Dollars ($23.00) per month per residential unit for the first garbage can and then Sixteen Dollars ($16.00) for each additional garbage can effective on April 1, 2026.

 

     SECTION 2:     This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
