Title

A Resolution to appoint a new member to the Revitalization and Beautification Board.

Summary

Pat Libby resigned from the Revitalization and Beautification Board due to health issues. The Revitalization and Beautification Board voted unanimously to appoint Jeannie Harper to fill the vacancy left by Ms. Libby on September 11, 2018.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the State of Alabama Ethics Commission says that public officials/board members fall under the State Ethics Law, and therefore should have the opportunity to educate themselves regarding this law, and

WHEREAS, the Alabama Ethics Commission offers an online video training of the Alabama Ethics Law, which can be accessed at their website at www.ethics.alabama.gov, <http://www.ethics.alabama.gov,> and

WHEREAS, all newly appointed and reappointed board members must submit a copy of their training certification to the City of Foley as a condition to being appointed/reappointed to the boards.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:

SECTION 1:      Appoints Jeannie Harper to the Revitalization and Beautification Board beginning retroactively April 10, 2018 and ending on February 23, 2020 to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Pat Libby and based on the conditions that she submits a copy of the Alabama Ethics Law certification to the City Clerk to be included in the City's General Files.

            SECTION 2:      This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
