WHEREAS, the City of Foley solicited bids and publicly opened them on March 25, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. for the construction of Foley Centennial Plaza and the bids were as follows:

Sandalwood Development Inc. $421,345.00
E-J Builders, Inc. $426,961.00
Bay South Ltd. Inc. $441,140.00
R & S Paving & Grading $895,431.40
WHEREAS, Blade Construction submitted the lowest bid in the amount of $413,366.00 for the construction of Foley Centennial Plaza but were disqualified due to a discrepancy with the written dollar amount and the numeric dollar amount,
WHEREAS, Sandalwood Development Inc. submitted the second lowest bid in the amount of $421,345.00.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Accepts the bid submitted by Sandalwood Development Inc. in the amount of $421,345.00 for the construction of Foley Centennial Plaza contingent upon successful results from the felony background check, and appropriates funds to Account No. 28-600-7120 CEN BID (Plaza ...
