WHEREAS, the City of Foley proposes to construct improvements at Wolf Creek Park to include a raised boardwalk, pavilion and trail; and
WHEREAS, the City of Foley intends to make application to the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources State Lands Division, Coastal Section for grant assistance to develop a raised boardwalk, pavilion, trail and signage at the Wolf Creek Park from the 306A Public Access Improvement Grant program; and
WHEREAS, the deadline to apply is March 7, 2014; and
WHEREAS, there is funding up to $50,000 available, a 50/50 match is required and in-kind services are allowed.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves ADCNR Coastal Public Access Grant Application for up to $100,000 with $45,000 cash, $5000 in-kind matching funds, and $50,000 grant funds to be used for improvements at the Wolf Creek Park.
SECTION 2: In the event a grant is awarded, the City of Foley understands that it will sign assurances to comply with all applicable Federal and State laws, rules and regulations.
