REQUEST TO APPLY FOR A
FY 2018/19 CLG (CERTIFIED LOCAL GOVERNMENT) GRANT
WHEREAS, the City of Foley is a Certified Local Government, and;
WHEREAS, the Alabama Historical Commission requires annual activities to maintain this Certification, and;
WHEREAS, the City has a Local Downtown Historic District and a National Register Historic District which could use Public Awareness and Education;
WHEREAS, the Alabama Historical Commission has grant funding available for this purpose with an application deadline of 3/30/2018 and a review date of 4/5/2018.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves submission of an application to the Alabama Historical Commission for a training grant in the amount of $7,500 with a 40% City match of $5,000 for a total project of $12,500.
SECTION 2: Approves appropriation of matching funding in the FY 2018_19 budget. The grant period is June 15, 2018 - June 15, 2019.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
