A Resolution Waiving Fees for the Use of Heritage Park and Pavilion on Saturday, August 31, 2024 for Michele Morgan with Big Fish Ministries to host a Drug Overdose Awareness Day

 

Summary

Michele Morgan with Big Fish Ministries, Inc has requested the use of Heritage Park and Pavilion at no charge on Saturday, August 31, 2024  from 8am - 1:00pm (including setup time) for a community Drug Overdose Awareness Day. The purpose is to raise awareness about overdosing and help bring healing to family members who have experienced this tragedy.  They are planning to have a food truck, guest speakers, live music performed by local churches and artists, kids activities (possibly a bouncer) and a memorial wall for healing. They are expecting 140-150 people to attend.

WHEREAS, Michele Morgan with Big Fish Ministries, Inc has requested the use of Heritage Park and Pavilion at no charge on Saturday, August 31, 2024  from 8am - 1:00pm (including setup time) for a community Drug Overdose Awareness Day, and

WHEREAS, the purpose is to raise awareness about overdosing and help bring healing to family members who have experienced this tragedy, and 

WHEREAS, they are planning to have a food truck, guest speakers, live music performed by the local churches and artists, kids activities (possibly a bouncer) and a memorial wall for healing. They are expecting 100-200 people to attend.

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:

 

SECTION 1: Waives the fees for the use of Heritage Park and Pavilion requested by Michele Morgan with Big Fish Ministries, Inc has requested the use of Heritage Park and Pavilion at no charge on Saturday, August 31, 2024  from 8am - 1:00pm (including setup time) for a community Drug Overdose Awareness Day.

SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
