A Resolution Appropriating Funds to the Renovation of Public Works Building Project

Summary
Leisure Services requests approval of a budget appropriation for the renovation of the Public Works building, with a total estimated cost of $1,115,000. This renovation is to enhance functionality for the Parks & Recreation and Horticulture Departments. PCDA Architecture has submitted a proposal for the Design Development, Construction Documents, Bidding, and Construction Administration in the amount of $60,000. They will create construction documents for an interior renovation and addition to the Public Works building. The renovation will include enclosing the covered area at the back of the building and providing insulation and wall protection in the shop area. The current office space will be demolished and replaced with a new 2,500-3,000 SF single story office space. The construction documents will include mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural engineering. The documents will also include a Life Safety/Code Summary. The requested amount will also include the remediation of the gas tanks.
