The City has an established City of Foley Police Officer of the Year Award, in the net monetary amount of $1,000, made possible through the Vosloh Charitable Foundation, and the Foundation now wishes to establish an annual City of Foley Fire Fighter of the Year Award for the same net monetary amount of $1,000.

WHEREAS, Resolution #3268-08 approved an annual City of Foley Police Officer of the Year Award, in the net monetary amount of $1,000, made possible through the Vosloh Charitable Foundation, and
WHEREAS, the Vosloh Charitable Foundation now wishes to establish an annual City of Foley Fire Fighter of the Year Award for the same net monetary amount of $1,000, and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council believe this to be a worthwhile endeavor that rewards excellence in fire fighter work.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1:       Approves an annual Firefighter of the Year Award through the Vosloh Charitable Foundation, in the net amount of $1,000 (taxes and other withholdings to be absorbed by the City).
SECTION 2:      This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
