A new law requires swimming pools to have ADA compliant lifts and stairs for pool access. I am requesting that we reallocate the $8,000 for playground equipment for the purchase of a lift and a new set of stairs. This was previously budgeted for last year; however, we the lead time for the vendor could not meet last fiscal year's deadline.

WHEREAS, the new ADA laws require ADA compliant pool lifts and stairs for pool access, and
WHEREAS, the Recreation Department has funds in the Capital Purchase Account 1-622-7010 for upgrading playground equipment,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the reallocation of $8,000 from the "Playground Equipment - upgrade" to "ADA lift and stairs for pool access", which is a newly added item, under account 1-622-7010 and approves the purchase of the same.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
