Request to accept the donation of $3000 from Foley Assembly of God Church for Fire Prevention Education Program and use those funds along with funds previously budgeted for an inflatable child slide to purchase a Freddie the Firetruck for Child Fire Safety Program. The amount budgeted for the inflatable child slide is $7500 in the Fire Ad Valorem fund capital projects. The total cost of Freddie and accessories will not exceed $10,500.

WHEREAS, the Foley Assembly of God Church has generously donated $3000 of proceeds from their 1st Annual Car Show to the Foley Fire Department for its Fire Prevention Education Program, and
WHEREAS, the Foley Fire Department has identified that Freddie the Firetruck would be a great tool for its Child Fire Safety Program, and
WHEREAS, the Foley Fire Department has been unsuccessful in receiving federal grant funds for the purchase of a Freddie the Firetruck, and
WHEREAS, the Foley Fire Department has budgeted for $7500 for a an inflatable child slide for its Fire Prevention Education Program but recognizes that Freddie the Firetruck is a higher priority project.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
