Discuss appointment of:  Pat Davis to the Historical Commission & Sandi Caudill to the Planning Commission.  Both have agreed to serve.
 
Body
 
      WHEREAS, the State of Alabama Ethics Commission says that public officials/board members fall under the State Ethics Law, and therefore should have the opportunity to educate themselves regarding this law, and
 
      WHEREAS, the Alabama Ethics Commission has recently developed an online video training of the Alabama Ethics Law, which can be accessed at their website at www.ethics.alabama.gov <http://www.ethics.alabama.gov>, and
 
      WHEREAS, all newly appointed or reappointed board members must submit a copy of their training certification to the City of Foley as a condition to being appointed/reappointed to the boards.
 
      NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
 
      SECTION 1:      Appoints Pat Davis to the Historical Commission beginning November 5, 2012 and ending April 21, 2015 based on the conditions that she submits a copy of the Alabama Ethics Law certification to the City Clerk to be included in the City's General Files.  Mrs. Davis is filling the vacancy left by Lewis Newlan, who passed away.
 
      SECTION 2:      Appoints Sandi Caudill to the Planning Commission beginning November 5, 2012 and ending September 20, 2016 based on the conditions that she submits a copy of the Alabama Ethics Law certification to the City Clerk to be included in the City's General Files.  Ms. Caudill is filling the vacancy left from Barbara Beam's resignation.
 
SECTION 3:      This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
