The proposed dates of fireworks scheduled this summer on the property are for Memorial Day - Saturday, May 23, 2026, with Sunday, May 24th, 2026 being a make-up day; Independence Day - Saturday, July 4, 2026, with Sunday, July 5, 2026 being a make-up day; and Labor Day - Saturday, September 5, 2026 with Sunday, September 6, 2026 being a make-up day. The fireworks shows will begin at 8:50 pm.

WHEREAS, OWA requests to host fireworks displays for their summer 2026 season on the following dates:
Memorial Day - Saturday, May 23, 2026 with Sunday, May 24, 2026 being a make-up day - 8:50 pm.
Independence Day - Saturday, July 4, 2026 with Sunday, July 5, 2026 being a make-up day - 8:50 pm.
Labor Day - Saturday, September 5, 2026 with Sunday, September 6, 2026 being a make-up day - 8:50 pm.
WHEREAS, OWA requests permission to coordinate with the City of Foley Fire and Police Departments during these events as it pertains to general public safety and traffic routes.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves fireworks displays to be held at the OWA grounds on Memorial Day - Saturday, May 23, 2026, with Sunday, May 24th, 2026 being a make-up day; Independence Day - Saturday, July 4, 2026, with Sunday, July 5, 2026 being a make-up day; and Labor Day - Saturday, September 5, 2026 with Sunday, September 6, 2026 being a make-up day. The fireworks shows will begin at 8:50 pm.
SECTION 2: Approves a seven (7) day extension for any date in the event of inclement weather.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
