Summary
John Koniar has resigned from the Museum Archives Board effective immediately. Mr. Koniar's term of office will expire on April 26, 2024.
Body
WHEREAS, the State of Alabama Ethics Commission says that public officials/board members fall under the State Ethics Law, and therefore should have the opportunity to educate themselves regarding this law, and
WHEREAS, the Alabama Ethics Commission has recently developed an online video training of the Alabama Ethics Law, which can be accessed at their website at www.ethics.alabama.gov, <http://www.ethics.alabama.gov,> and
WHEREAS, all newly appointed and reappointed board members must submit a copy of their training certification to the City of Foley as a condition to being appointed/reappointed to the boards.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Appoints John Foley to the Museum Archives Board beginning on February 21, 2023 and expiring on April 26, 2024 to fill the unexpired term of John Koniar, who resigned and appoints him to a term beginning on February 21, 2023 and expiring on April 26, 2024 based on the condition that he submits a copy of the Alabama Ethics Law certification to the City Clerk to be included in the City's General Files.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
