WHEREAS, the City regularly receives requests for memorial trees and benches.
WHEREAS, Graham Creek Nature Preserve is an ideal location for a memorial tree grove and walk.
WHEREAS, the Beautification Board and City staff have developed an overall plan for a memorial tree grove at Graham Creek Nature Preserve with the first phase of a parking area, walkway and several initial trees.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: The City approriates the budgeted amount of up to $5000 for Phase I of the Memorial Tree Grove with the purchases for the project following the normal purchasing guidelines through Account Number 12-665-7321 Q95 PROJ.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
